HUACAS DEL SOL Y LA LUNA IN TRUJILLO VISITED BY 400 TOURISTS A DAY
Date: 05/07/2010
Over 400 local and foreign tourists visit daily the archaeological complex Huacas del Sol y La Luna, locate in Trujillo, La Libertad in northern Peru, which host the modern museum Huacas de Moche recently opened.

Ricardo Morales, co-director of the archaeological project, stressed that the time of stay of tourists increased from an hour and a half to three hours because visitors go first to the museum and then to the archaeological zone, which was inhabited 1,500 years ago by settlers of the Moche culture.
The largest number of visits, 499, was reported last Sunday. However, the figures are expected to change between the months of July and November, considered as high season.
Morales announced that from the second week of July, a series of shows will be offered in the amphitheatre of the museum so that tourists will have another reason to visit the Huacas del Sol y La Luna.
The museum is opened Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 to 16:00 hours.
