MACHU PICCHU CELEBRATES THIRD ANNIVERSARY AS ONE OF NEW 7 WONDERS

The municipality of Machu Picchu announced the start of the week of celebrations to mark the third anniversary of the Inca citadel election as one of the New Seven World Wonders.
The activities will start tomorrow with the rising of the flag and a contest of billboards among the local schools. There will also be a contest of typical dances on Friday, and a show of Andean-Latin American music.
On Sunday, a gastronomic festival will be held with the participation of local restaurants.
In July 2007, Machu Picchu was chosen as one of the new seven wonders of the world in a contest organized by the New 7 Wonders Foundation.
